I noticed Henry conjugating (ok really just using more than 1 tense) a couple of
verbs in the last couple of days.
First, he enjoys playing with some pretend cookies and cooking them. He calls them 'tookies' since he can't get a good 'k' sound. He will bring me his tray of 'tookies' and ask me to 'took' them and has enjoyed this game for some time. Yesterday, when the cookies where in the pretend oven he said they were 'tookieing.' As in the food is cooking. I thought it was interesting that he used a another form of cook.
Today, he pointed to the bike my Aunt had ridden when she was here a couple of weeks ago and said 'Nonni rode.' 'Ride' is a stable of his vocubulary, but this is the first I heard the past tense. He had pointed the bike before and said 'Nonni's bike' and 'Nonni ride.' This evening is the first I heard of the past tense.
He has realized that the same word changes form and can be used in different ways.
